Many of you have been wtih me at this URL since 2010 - and I think you for your many visits. I want to redirect you to my NEW SITE.
My wellness journey is really taking me on a path I had never imagined, and I officially formed Purely Living Wellness LLC in November of 2014.
With that, a new website has been created and it is there that I will be posting new articles, recipes, and eventually - transferring much of what is available here - to Purely Living Wellness.
Many of you will be thrilled that recipes are categorized at the new site. I will try to move the most often requested recipes first. This will take time, which is something I do not have much of as I work on developing a protocol that will help my husband heal from hsi cancer.
In addition to Arbonne, I have expanded to offer hyperthermia sessions using BioMat far infrared therapy and bio-electro pulse therapy, otherwise known as frequency therapy sessions, using the Wellness Pro 2010+.
Arbonne skincare, alkaline based nutrition (a part of our anti cancer diet protocol), BioMat, Wellness Pro - as well as additional supplements and holistic treatmens are working together towards helping his body to heal. I am happy to share what I have learned with others and am now available for education consultations as well.

Hearty Chicken Cannellini Soup
What does one do in the midst of a blizzard? Make a large pot of hearty, hot soup! Everyone in the family gave this a two thumbs up. It is very hearty, simple, and delicious!
Vegetarian or on a tight budget? Omit the chicken as the beans will provide plenty of protein and are budget friendly.`
Ingredients, place in a large NOT non-stick pot:
1 32 oz. carton organic vegetable broth
1 can Muir Glen stewed tomatoes
1 can organic tomato paste -
stir in with first two ingredients and wait 15 min. before adding remaining foods.
12 oz. dry Cannellini Beans (Bob's Red Mill) soaked as directed
1 can organic black beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 onion chopped, pre-sauteed with turmeric in olive oil
5 lage cloves of fresh garlic chopped
2 organic chicken breast, pre-cooked, chopped
1 T. Herbamare seasoning
1/2 tsp. organic rosemary
Garnish, if desired, befoe serving each bowl:
Red bell pepper, chopped
Feta - Athenos rosemary/basil, crumbled
I had canned organic black beans on hand, and as I added as an afterthought, I did not have my usual dry beans soaked and ready to go. The beans provide protein and make this soup very filling.

Savory Pancake for Wraps
Today it is nasty outside. We will catch worship service on line at blackhawkchurch.org. Today we are finishing our series called "Wrecked" from the book of Job...how appropriate for a time such as this. It has been rather difficult emotionally, but also it reminds us to wait upon the Lord for healing, however that may be.
Yesterdays pancake was such a hit I decided to go savory. I have smiles chicken sausages in the refrigerator and I decided a wrap is a great way to serve them, since we are still without eggs. I wanted to keep the health benefits of ancient grains, and make a dairy, egg, gluten free...yet protein rich wrap.
There is one special ingredient...a single drop of Young Living rosemary essential oil. It is amazing how on drop of powerfulfood grade healing oil can lightly infuse a large bowl of batter.
In the order listed place in a large batter bowl:
1 cup Silk unsweetened original almond milk
3/4 c. Bobs Red Mill gluten free baking mix (bean based)
1/2 c Teff flour
1/4 c quinoa freshly ground to flour
1/2 c Silk almond milk, whisk ingredients
1/8 c flax seed freshly ground
1/8 c black chia seed, freshly ground
1 tsp Rumford aluminum free baking powder
1/2 c organic applesauce
1/2 c Silk almond milk with 1 drop YL Rosemary essential oil stirred in
1/4 c water
Whisk all briskly. Ensure (ceramic) pan is pre-heated. Drizzle olive oil on pan. Using a soup ladle filled with batter, pour onto pan and use base of ladle to spread into a circle to make thin cake.
Recipe makes 6 pancakes 7-8 inches diameter.
Fill with spinach, sprouts, onions, peppers and avocado for a Vegi wrap. Or use to wrap a sausage, but don't forget your greens!
Be well,
Rita

Vanilla Vegan Protein Pancakes - Elimination Diet Friendly
All psyched up to make vegi packed omelettes this morning - I discovered we were out of free range eggs! Ooops!
Pancakes....well, typically they have eggs. But what if we skipped the eggs? So my daughter and I set out to make a new pancake recipe. I had made Teff pancakes before, which my kids loved.
However, this time I wanted to have "protein power" as I am trying to get a lot of vegan, alkaline based protein into my husband for his recovery. He is a lover of vanilla...so I decided to add in the Arbonne Essentials pure vanilla protein powder - which not only provided sweetness from the low glycemic stevia, but a wonderful vanilla flavor to the pancakes. The result, the kids gobbled them up and my husband, whose appetite had been sparse, asked for a second large pancake. Two thumps up - family approved! We hope you enjoy these pancakes. If you have children in the home, get them involved. Kids love to use the coffee grinder to grind up the seeds.
These pancakes provide fuel for the brain and muscles. Because they are low glycemic - it is the perfect pancake recipe for those conscience of stabilizing blood sugars, such as those with type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure.
Vanilla Vegan Protein Pancakes
(Gluten Free, Egg Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Low Glycemic)
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup teff flour
1/2 cup sweet sorghum flour
1/4 cup of freshly ground quinoa to make flour
1 T of freshly ground flax seed
1 T of freshly ground black chia seed
2 scoops Arbonne essentials vanilla protein powder
1 cup organic applesauce
1 t. quality vanilla extract (do not use artificial!)
2 T of quality cinnamon
1 t. Baking powder (Rumford aluminum free)
1/2 cup unsweetened Silk original almond milk
3 drops liquid stevia extract (NOW Better Stevia Liquid Extract - optional)
Mix all ingredients in order listed above until well blended. Add extra milk if desired.
Stevia extract is optional, the pancakes are sweet enough with the vanilla protein powdeer and sweet sorghum flour. Depending on the desired consitency, you may wish to add up to an additional 1/2 cup of almond milk.
Place on hot ceramic or stainless steel flat pan on medium temperature, that has been prepped with 1/2 t. of cold pressed organic coconut oil. Make sure pan is hot (medium heat to start) before placing batter on pan. Batter should sizzle when making contact with the pan. Turn down heat to medium low once pan is hot or your pancakes will burn. It is important to avoid non stick cookware. Even unscratched, it leaches chemicals that are considered excito-toxins.
Serve pancakes with fresh fruit. Using a blender, puree some fruit to make a fresh syrup and add a couple drops of raw honey if desired. Or serve with locally produced maple syrup.
Protein sources for this pancake are in abundance with the use of quinoa and Arbonne Essentials protein powder. Flax and chia seeds are powerhouses for brain fuel and cell membrane repair. Complex carbohydrates, contrary to those who tout "grain free" diets, are critical for brain function.
To your health,
Rita S.

Flaxseed Oil Excellent Omega 3 Source
Wow! What a journey this has become! For the past three years I have brought you news of what I have been learning for healthy living and cancer prevention. I am repeating the importance of a HIGH QUALITY Omega 3 in the diet.
I have been studying Omega 3s, which are a critical supplement in the anti-cancer diet. I have posted previously on how an abundance of Omega 6 oils in the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) are considered to be a major contributor to cancer and other disease...keep in mind, foods out of a box or a bag almost ALWAYS have Omega 6. The ration for daily consumption should be 4 parts Omega 3 to 1 part Omega 6.
Beneficial Omega 3s need to be PURE, COLD PRESSED/PROCESSED. I have been comparing supplements...even those mentioned in my books, "Cancer Free", "Outsmart Your Cancer" ...and as I compare...if Arbonne has a comparable supplement I am consistently finding it is THE BETTER BRAND. Besides the purity standards, I see incredible insight into the formulations. In fact, I am becoming more and more impressed as we learn on this journey.
Per the renown Budwig Cancer Diet "Flaxseed oil is the richest source of Omega 3 LNA, essential fatty acid."
Flaxseed oil is the key ingredient in the Arbonne Omega 3 Plus. I repeat this because many believe fish oil and krill, even purified to be the best Omega 3 source. In fact, many wellness practices will recommend fish or krill oil. This is contrary to what I am finding, almost across the board, in my cancer protocol books.
Flaxseed oil should be a key element in any healthy living lifestyle plan. It is important to know that Flaxseed oil goes rancid, and oxidizes quickly. If you use fresh oil, you should grind it yourself, using a coffee grinder. Do not grind more than 2 days worth at a time.
For those using Omega 3 supplements - my library of holistic, cancer treatment books, do stress the importance of nitrogen be used as a preservative in a flaxseed oil supplement. Which is, of course, how the Arbnnne Omega 3 Plus is preserveed.
For those on the Budwig protocol to heal from cancer - grinding flaxseed can be time consuming. Daily consumption of fresh flaxseed oil in the Budwig diet is 3 oz/day blended with 2/3 cup organic cottage cheese. At this time, Barlean's is the brand being recommended. If you have cancer, call them and they will work out a special price for those on the Budwig cancer diet protocol. This product does provide all Omegas - 3, 6 and 9 - in necessary ratios. It is important to note that this oil is not hydrogenated - which is a key difference vs. those found in processed foods.
Be well,
Rita S.

Tumors Begin 10 Years Prior to Being Picked Up
Surprised? Cancer starts very very early, as stated by Dr. Leigih Erin Conneally at the World Cure to Cancer Summit.
The cure for cancer is prevention. Per Conneally we already know how to test early on, but people do not know this. If people would go in for an early cancer screening we could change the world
By the time cancer is stage 4 it is Pallitative - i.e. we will make the best of today Conventional cannot do much with stage 4 cancer. We CAN find cancer in year one with great accuracy that people do not realize.
Two tests EVERY person, available from conventional doctor, should have are:
1. C-reactive protein blood test - non specific marker for inflammation. Inflammation is an indicator needs to be less than ONE. Even 1.2 - doctor needs to discover why. Does the patient have cancer? By the time medical scans show cancer it has to be year 8 or 10 in the making. If CRP is more than one...make anti-inflammatory changes asap.
2. Vit D test - affects over 200 genes in our body. 99% of all people are deficient. Deficiency is a common denominator in every type of cancer.
Additoinal Testing:available from American Metabolic Laboratory - Cancer Profile
HCG test is test for pregnancy but also malignancy. Two different blood and urine
Enzyme test to determine if a patient has proper oxygenation. Otto Warburg, one of the foremost authorities and scientist of our time, discovered that cancer cells eat sugar, and lower oxgen in a cell. A cell deprived of oxygen becomes cancerous.
If oxygen is not where it should be it doesn't mean you have cancer but environment in the cells are optimum for cancer to develop. If HCG is not positive the enzyme test can inform if the environment is prime for cancer.
The membrane of a cell has 30,000 receptors. We have to have proper intake of Essential (meaning not optional) fatty acids to keep the membrane functioning optimally. Walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flax...if we are not eating these we need to supplement. Vegetarian oils are indicating a better option for healthy cell membrane than fish oil, in the latest research.
Enzyme will also test DHEA (stress), CEA (non specific marker for many cancers), hormones, and
Onco Blood Test determines if you have cancer and where. 80 tissue types of cancer can be detected with this. Available to anyone.
Red Drop Test - checks for DNA that duplicate itself, and measures TK levels, which indicates that cancer may be forming, or if your cells are working as they should be.
Natalase test - only $75 anatalase will tell you how your immune system is working. Not available in the US. Drawn here and sent to Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Russia.
Conneally stated patients have to be pro active. Doctors just don't know about all the latest tests. Heavy metal testing is critical for cancer patients. Heavy trace mercury presence will prevent cells from healing.
These markers will help you determine if cancer is brewing, saute'ing, or simmering.
Illness is increasing in every age group in every category of disease. If you would like to know where you stand...is cancer brewing? You have every right to request these tests.
Final Four Tips from Conneally -
May you be healthy and stay that way!
Rita S.

- The key to prevention is an anti-inflammatory diet. (well what do you know, this is what I have been teaching in my Arbonne nutrition workshops for the past four years!)
- Patients need to embrace meditation.
- Detox often (epsom salt baths, coffee enemas).
- Drink liquid nutrients every day.
May you be healthy and stay that way!

Soy - Is it really a health food?
Touted as a health food for years - we have been misled by those who needed to create a market for soybean crops in the U.S. A wonderful book I recommend is called"Soy Deception", by well known thyroid expert Dr. David Brownstein. When I meet a vegetarian often I can spot those who consume a lot of soy, indicated by the puffiness of the face, particularly around the eyes, as Brownstein explains in his book/video series on thyroid dysfunction. This past summer I attended a vegan potluck with my daughter, and I explained why I avoid soy (spotting three likely soy consumers sitting across from me at the table). Lo and behold, after I explained what I had learned, I learn in return that each was on medication for thyroid issues. Obviously, I was not surprised.
Rather than ask all of you to read Brownstein's book, this link to an article by Dr. Joe Mercola, whom many of you are probably familiar, is a great summary of key points covered in the book. My self-appointed mentor, neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock, has written extensively on the ill effects of soy. Although many vegan enthusiasts still tout soy as a health food, even organic has its issues.
All soy, even organic, absorbs more glutamates from the ground than any other plant in the plant kingdom - per Blaylock. Glutamates are a form of neurotoxin - that word alone should make one nervous. Neurotoxins, as you may surmise, affect the brain - not only memory loss and function, but as well - behavioral disorders such as ADHD, ADD, bi-polar may experience a change in attitude or concentration after consuming soybean products.
In the June 2004 issue of the Blaylock newsletter, the good doctor reports on Alzheimer prevention, and cautions readers to avoid hydrolyzed soy protein isolates, soy extracts, and soybean oil, the latter of which is in the greatest percentage of processed foods. I truly believe Blaylock is a pioneer in the realm of cause and effect of brain dysfunction.
For vegans who are using protein shakes containing soy isolate, I encourage you to dig deeper, and consider a switch to an easy-to-digest yellow pea/ brown rice based protein powder. I personally use Arbonne Essentials, which not only tastes great, but has the additional benefit of cranberry protein - allowing for a 100% amino acid profile score. You are welcome to contact me for a complete ingredient list. By the way, this product contains NO artificial ingredients or trace heavy metals - as in "zero" ppm.
If you wish to consume soy - it is recommended to limit to 2-3 times weekly, and ONLY fermented soy products (no, this does not include milk). Organic is a critical choice, as explained in Mercola's article regarding U.S. grownGMO soy vs. organic (chart illustration as well). Below are the four soy foods fermented and considered a healthier choice.
- Natto
- Miso
- Tempeh
- Tamari (fermented soy sauce - be careful, you want fermented!)
On the subject of hormones, the estrogenic properties of soy may have a benefit for those suffering from hot flashes, but that is an entirely different subject of which I would be happy to discuss with you privately. A hormone supplement containing soy is much different than consuming main course dishes made with tofu.
In Mercola's article, he is not 100% accurate, from my understanding of estrogen receptors, in regard to soy contributing to cancer. Phytoestrogens (plant estrogens) are not the same as estradiol - the cancer-contributing hormone that our body produces. This is an entirely different subject for discussion.
For the purposes of a clean eating or elimination diets to promote healthy living - soy can be inflammatory, is often allergenic and prohibits nutrient uptake.
May you enjoy good health all the days of your life.

CBD Oil Effectiveness for Cancer
I am so thankful to the Integrative Health Institute, which I joined several months ago. The organization continually brings the leaders in alternative oncology to educate members on what they are using for successful remissions of stage four cancer patients, without the use of chemo and radiation. This week Jesse and I had the opportunity to sit down and listen to an interview with alternative oncology MD - Thomas Lodi, who has a clinic in the Philippines, but also Oasis of Hope Healing Center in Arizona.
Lodi stresses the importance of an alkaline diet and detoxification, but perhaps more importantly he says to, "Be conscience of your thought and changing the pattern."
He mentioned envisioning work he does with his patients, having them draw the cancer smaller and smaller each time they come to see him. Jesse really liked this idea.
We were able to submit questions prior to the webinar... I had submitted three. We were so grateful that as the hour came to a close and he had time for one more question, that one of ours was chosen. Seeing that we live in Wisconsin, I had asked "Is CBD oil (medical marijauna) as effective for cancer without the THC component". For those unaware, hemp plants offer amazing medicinal properties. Dr. Lodi assured us that CBD oil, from the industrial hemp plant, is superb for fighting cancer, inflammation and metastasis. I admit a sense of relief in hearing him say so, since we had invested in the medicine from a company in California that I found another alternative clinic offering on their website.
For those who would like to learn more about medical hemp, here is a link to a women's testimony of stage 4 lung cancer being cured. It seems that she used hemp with the THC component as well, which is not legal in Wisconsin. I have learned so much on this journey, as has Jesse. We both agree, that God has provided a world of medicinal plants to use for our healing. Are there those who abuse that gift? Yes. What is unfortunate is that those who really need it for healing need to uproot their family and move, or leave their family to heal. We are praying the CBD oil will indeed be as effective, and will be patient as we realize it will take longer without the THC component. If you are anti "hemp med", as we were before this journey began, I encourage you to watch the video. We were ignorant, and had no idea there were two types of hemp plants, and that both have medicinal properties.
If you check out the video you will see she is rebounding, which is another recommendation I have repeatedly heard for cancer patients. Rebounding helps lymph nodes to drain, and in combination with the acupuncture, lymph massage and adjustments - the body is able to detox more readily. Detoxing is so important, as dead cancer cells, which build up with chemo and radiation, can cause much pain and weakness in the cancer patient - per a webinar from the "Cure to Cancer" series I listened to a last month.
May you envision yourself well,
Rita S.

May you envision yourself well,
Rita S.

Purium Protein or Arbonne Protein?
Yesterday's post discussed Purity vs. Natural. Point being, most of our plants absorb toxins from the environment, and in order to make them PURE, extractions of impurities (or gluten) may be required in a laboratory environment. IF one is diligent in purity claims, as Arbonne reports to be.
Arbonne Essentials nutrition... you can bet I have scrutinized, compared, and stayed up many nights looking at other products recommended to me for my husband's cancer battle. Whether it be Purium, Noni Juice or whatever. Each line that is recommended to me I take seriously... I dig on the net for ingredient lists. What I find over and over - is Arbonne is a shining star.
As far as protein supplements go, Purium is only 1% up on Arbonne for efficacy. Purium is reported to be 99% efficacy for $99, whereas Arbonne is 98% efficacy, for $69 retail (and no one I know purchases Arbonne vegan protein at full price - since everyone can shop at a discount). The amino acid profile score on Arbonne protein is impressive... and I have reviewed it with recommendations made of certain amino acids for muscle wasting in W. Last's book, "Overcoming Cancer".
A newer tool in our arsenal of healthy living is the Arbonnes Greens Balance. I was impressed beyond measure with the full spectrum, power house of green super food. I call it my "liquid green oxygen"...fuel for my cells.
Last night as I listened to alternative oncologist, Dr. Thomas Lodi, speak on his action plan against cancer, he stated "Metabolic medicine - keeping you insulin in check. This is how to address all cancers." His statement reaffirmed how very smart Arbonne protein is as a complete food. Formulated to prevent insulin spikes - Arbonne protein turned my health around four years ago.... it is alkaline, helps to restore proper pH, and is the easiest to digest form of protein available.
And then we get back to the word PURE from yesterday's post.... ZERO ppm (parts per million) of any trace toxic metal. Arbonne is Pure. I would hope Purium is as well...but is a product at such a higher price point necessary to obtain and restore health?
What I do know...is my husband's HCG test continues to go in the right direction...aka the number of active cancer cells are diminishing. We are on track for recovery...and I trust the protocols we have implemented, of which I am thankful Arbonne is a part.
To your renewed health,
Rita S.

ARBONNE PURITY - A HIGHER STANDARD THAN "NATURAL" or "ORGANIC"?
I love nature. The plants, animals, all of God's amazing creation. I love how beneficial fresh produce is for our bodies (after I wash it of course). Plants are super conductors of our environment. Have you ever thought about that?
Our soils contain trace metals, which feed into the plants. Think about the world in which we live... The air rains down "acid". Radiation from nuclear plant tragedies are polluting our ocean AND radiation is travelling across the ocean to pollute the work of organic farmers. NOT only in California - even the midwest is being reached. Check out this map that shows concentrations of radiation across the continent. I live in Wisconsin, and not for one moment am I disillusioned into thinking that even though I grow my vegetables, and dandelions organically, that they are pure food sources. BUT, better than food from the grocery store I should hope. (how I wish my neighbors were not chemical happy).
In addition to traces of toxic metals, glutamates, nitrates, and other known toxins are found in our soils. It is tough to be an organic farmer. Organic produce are allowed certain amount of "parts per million" ppm, of trace toxicities. Did you know that? Produce has to be under a certain number to be labeled organic...no, I don't know that number... The point being, organic is NOT equivalent to PURE.
Remember, we are what we absorb. Whether it is through our gut our through our largest organ, the skin.
People have said to me, "Arbonne is not ALL NATURAL". My reply, no, it is not. Arbonne does not make "all natural" claims. Arbonne combines the BEST OF BOTANICALS with the BEST OF GREEN SCIENCE. The reason being...nature is NOT pure. Our world is too toxic. Only in pristine eco environments can raw ingredients be obtained that are pure...
Arbonne is committed to PURE, SAFE, BENEFICIAL. Arbonne sources botanicals from all across the world, seeking the purist of raw materials from suppliers that also meet our standards of being vegan and practice sustainable harvesting. When I learned that the company has labs which grow sea botanicals (spirulina, algaes, etc) used as ingredients in the products, with complete environmental control to assure purity - I was impressed.
I don't know of another company that is so unwaivering in their commitment to purity and safety. They may be out there....but this I know...when it comes to our skincare - no one can match our clinically proven results. As my husband continues to battle his cancer, we TRUST and believe in Arbonne. The more I am learning on this journey of complete body restoration...the more blessed we feel to have known about Arbonne prior to this chapter in our lives.
The Arbonne herbal muscle massage gel has helped with Jesse's pain tremendously, as compared to more expensive tinctures and formulas from naturopathic sources. The Seasource Body Gelee is paramount in increasing circulation, necessary for his body to detoxify.
These are just two of my husband's favorite products...but suffice to say, whether it is shampoo or lotion for his drying skin... we have peace of mind because PURITY trumps "all natural". Synthesis is not a dirty word...it simply means people are smart enough to realize that even Mother Nature has toxins, that need to be extracted before a plant is pure enough to be used in product formulate. Kudos to Arbonne for going the extra mile on our behalf.
To your health,
Rita S.

Concerned Over Cold & Flu Season, Ebola? Get D!
Have you heard the buzz about Vitamin D? If you have visited my blog previously, you have....it has been shown to be a very important hormone (that's right, Vitamin D is not a vitamin, but a hormone) in the fight against cancer, as well as other diseases. In fact, if you have a passion to donate to cancer research for in lieu of holiday gift giving, I highly recommend the Vitamin D Society for the paramount work they are doing in D research and education.
I wanted to share what I have learned about Vitamin D3, which is a major immunity booster. It can alleviate several health concerns when taken in higher doses of 5,000 iu per day. In this linked article, Dr. Sircus, one of the doctors who spoke at the Cure to Cancer symposium, he talks about the immune boosting effects of D.
For those concerned about Ebola...Vit D is key, according to a recently published article by Natural News - apparently the Center for Disease Control has Vitamin D in its ebola fighting plan of attack.
Vitamin D is known to be anti-angiogenesis (prevents cancer from spreading), and in fact, one of the research speakers at the Cure to Cancer summit series talked about a group of men with stage 1 and 2 prostrate cancer - who agreed to forgo conventional treatment and use 10,000 iu of Vit D for a year. After that one year period 50% were cancer free and the remainder of the group all had lower PSAs and were doing well, and decided to continue Vit D3. if one were to explore PubMed and medical journals you can find numerous studies on the benefits of Vit D. Not too long ago I published much more in depth notes specifically on benefits of D as part of a protocol for cancer. You can scroll down or search in the field with the key words VItamin D.
Another mineral important for immune and overall health is Magnesium - which is better absorbed through the skin, per the books on overcoming cancer that I have been reading.
Magnesium is good for the heart. Magnesium Chloride can be obtained in crystal flakes, and dissolved in water to create a spray that is misted on the skin to dry. Another recommendation is to bathe in dissolved magnesium crystals and baking soda.
When taking higher doses of vitamin D we have been instructed by one of our doctors to ensure adequate vitamin K2 intake. Jesse's chiropractor is in agreement with the 10,000 iu of vitamin D3 he is taking to help reduce the inflammation from the three bulged discs.
The next time you have a doctor appointment you may wish to request a Vit D level test from the lab - ideally, levels for healthy people should be between 40-70, but with compromised health one may wish to achieve levels 70-100, as is the case for Jesse and his anti cancer protocol.
May you stay well this coming cold and flu season,
Rita S.

Hypertension Linked to Metabolic Syndrome
High blood pressure, known as hypertension, is a growing concern among Americans.
Unfortunately, drugs often prescribed to treat high blood pressure (including statins), provide only a band-aid approach, and do not address the cause. Now, having said that - DO NOT stop taking your medication!
Today I revisited a July 2005 issue of the Blaylock Wellness Report, where neurosurgeon, Russell Blaylock MD discusses the many facets of hypertension. He explains what is taking place in the body...inflammation, neurotransmitters, and a long list of fascinating stuff...but for many of you, if I described this fascinating works of the inner body...you would become bored. If you would like a PDF copy of the complete newsletter email me and I will send a copy.
I simply want to share what I have learned as a natural approach to addressing high blood pressure...and if you haven't already guessed....DIET. A number of common health issues, including but not limited to: type 2 diabetes, athersclerosis (hardening of the arteries), high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease...can be factors in Metabolic Syndrome. This report states, "Insulin resistance and central obesity, recognized as the main factors involved in the pathophysiology of the metabolic syndrome, contribute to elevated blood pressure, which further promotes vascular damage in cardiac, renal, and brain tissue."
Blaylock recommends a modified DASH diet - DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The diet was compiled by medical centers studying and pooling data.
Here is a brief description of changes you can make to your diet to calm down your blood pressure...
- 5-10 servings of VEGETABLES per day
- AVOID DAIRY
- Increase Omega-3 fat intake (coconut, EVOO and avocados)
- Limit salt intake to 3,000 mg/day (use only Celtic or Himalayan)
- Avoid all excitotoxic food additives
- Complex carbs with fiber only
- Avoid all sugar
- Avoid all Omega 6 fats (in all processed foods)
- Drink only purified water (avoid chlorinated, fluoride treated tap water)
The list reminds me of the Arbonne 28 day detox program, which transformed my life four years ago. Although sugar is not on the list, please remember that sugar is a SIMPLE carb, and therefore is encompassed in the 6th bullet point along with refined breads, as Blaylock states in the complete article. Excitotoxins include any and all glutamate ingredients, artificial ingredients (sweeteners, food coloring, flavoring), GMO (which means wheat, corn unless organic), etc.
Dr. Blaylock goes on to list natural helps to control hypertension:
- Hawthorne
- DHA (found in Omega 3 with sea algae derivities)
- Flavonoids (quercetin/hesperidin)
- Aged garlic extract
- CoQ10
- L-carnitine
- N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC)
- Alpha lipoic acid
-Ginkgo biloba
- Magnesium/potassium/calcium
- Green tea extract
A good source of Omega 3s will also contain healthful amounts of DHA (derived from sea algae).
In the newsletter - a couple of interesting notes...caffeine from coffee and tea are reported to increase blood pressure. Also, combining Vitamin C with grape seed extract has also been shown to increase blood pressure. Per the report Vitamin C alone can help lower hypertension. Very interesting stuff!
Certainly not least, the importance of a good nights rest and reducing stress plays a pivotal role in reducing blood pressure. For a good nights sleep, eliminate extraneous lighting in the bedroom to ensure your body's full production of melatonin, a hormone that helps one sleep fitfully.

Revive Essential Oil Blend - Arbonne Holiday 2014
I am finding myself in a world of new fascinatin with Essential Oils.
Last year Arbonne released a trio of blends for the holidays, but I didn't appreciate them for what they were. I plan to analyze the essential oils in the Scents of Renewal Aromatherapy Gift Set. Now if only Arbonne would release a diffuser with the Arbonne logo!
For a much faster read, I will describe the three key oils in each blend. For REVIVE, key oils include
How Does Neroli Essential Oil Work?
Conclusions
Revive is diffused with several carrier oils, including Sweet Almond Oil, which allows it to be used safely for transdermal application. All essential oils used by Arbonne are steam distilled from the purest of raw sources.
This article is provided for informational purposes only and makes no claims to cure any illness or disease. Please see your primary care physician to discuss your treatments.
To your health,
Rosa damascena flower oil, Neroli (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) flower oil, rose geranium (Pelargonium graveolens).
- Beneficial effects on the brain function such as treatment of dementia.
- potent inhibitor of α-glucosidase enzyme (73). Therefore, anti-diabetic effect
- wide spectrum antimicrobial activities
Rose-scented geranium (Pelargonium graveolens L’Hér.), which is used in traditional Tunisian folk medicine for the treatment of hyperglycaemia, is widely known as one of the medicinal herbs with the highest antioxidant activity.

Rosa damascena flower oil, Neroli (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) flower oil, rose geranium (Pelargonium graveolens).
NCBI/National Institute of Heatlh publishes a very interesting research abstract on
Rosa damascena mill L., known as Gole Mohammadi in is one of the most important species of Rosaceae family flowers. R. damascena is an ornamental plant and beside perfuming effect, several pharmacological properties including anti-HIV, antibacterial, antioxidant, antitussive, hypnotic, antidiabetic, and relaxant effect on tracheal chains have been reported for this plant. ...Because of the low oil content in R. damascena and the lack of natural and synthetic substitutes, essential rose oil is one of the most expensive ones in the world markets - Beneficial effects on the brain function such as treatment of dementia.
- potent inhibitor of α-glucosidase enzyme (73). Therefore, anti-diabetic effect
- wide spectrum antimicrobial activities
Neroli (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) flower oil has been long used in aromatherapy. It is said to offer a variety of benefits for mental and physical health.
According to an article found at About Health, Neroli oil is said to help
- reduce anxiety and stress (perfect for the holidays!) .
- beneficial for colds, headaches, high blood pressure and anti-inflammatory.
NCBI reports are similar, the present randomized controlled trial showed that inhalation of neroli oil by postmenopausal women improved their quality of life related to:
- menopausal symptoms, increased sexual desire
- reduced blood pressure
- stimulate the endocrine system.
These findings indicate that neroli oil can be used to relieve various symptoms related to menopause.

These findings indicate that neroli oil can be used to relieve various symptoms related to menopause.
In aromatherapy, inhaling the aroma of neroli essential oil (or absorbing neroli essential oil through the skin) is thought to transmit messages to a brain region involved in controlling emotions. Known as the limbic system, this brain region also influences the nervous system. Aromatherapy proponents suggest that essential oils may affect a number of biological factors, including heart rate, stress levels, blood pressure, breathing, and immune function.
It suggests that administration of essential oil of P. graveolens may be helpful in the prevention of diabetic complications associated with oxidative stress. Our results, therefore, suggest that the rose-scented geranium could be used as a safe alternative antihyperglycemic drug for diabetic patients.
Our rose geranium essential oil is extracted from the plant Pelargonium graveolens of the Geraniaceae family and has a rosier smell than that of its cousin - Pelargonium odorantissimum, which is more the commonly known geranium essential oil and has a more wild "lemon-apple" smell.
Rose geranium oil has a balancing effect on the nervous system and relieves depression and anxiety, while lifting the spirits and making the world an easier place to live in. It has a balancing effect on the adrenal cortex and is great for relieving stress and stimulates the immune system.
It has a general diuretic effect on the body and balances the water systems in the body, correcting any poor elimination of water and waste material. It is useful for treating jaundice, gall stones and can also be used for restraining nose bleeds and other hemorrhaging.
On the skin, rose geranium oil helps to balance the secretion of sebum and clears sluggish and oily skins, while the antiseptic and cicatrisant properties make this oil an effective aid to help with burns, wounds, ulcers and other skin problems.

Vegan Protein Shake For Weight Gain
Many people struggle with weight loss, but there are people who very much need to gain weight.
Omega 3s and GOOD fats play an important role in muscle mass and weight gain. Now, if you have participated in the Arbonne 28 days to feeling fit program...you know that we also advocate GOOD fats to LOSE weight. However, when gain is the goal - you do want to incorporate a greater amount of good fats in your diet, or in this case, smoothie recipe.
Raw nuts, nut milks, nut butters and nut meals are all good additions to help boost weight. In general, dairy can be inflammatory and should be avoided, but raw organic kefir may be a good addition to a vegan protein shake.
I did some digging to find a shake for weight gain from several sources, and muscle building and tweaked it. The base recipe came from the 4-Hour body, but it was heavy on foods that cause inflammation in many people.
This smoothie requires blending, versus shaker cup ease. However, when we are in a hurry at our home, and my husband does need weight gain - we add either Barlean's Flaxseed Oil or coconut oil that has sat in a warm water bath to bring to liquid form, into the shaker cup. If you don't mind little chunks, you can add ground flax seed or chia seed.
I will say, if you have access to great avocados - it is one of nature's most perfect foods, and will add rich creaminess to any shake. But for ease...we will not include in this recipe... Organic is always preferred, and cold processed nut oils should be considered as exposing nut oils to heat contributes free radicals and defeats the purpose of trying to eat healthy. Avoid pre-ground flax seed as again, free radicals begin to develop from the moment the seeds are ground.

Digestive Enzymes and Meat Proteins For the Cancer Patient
Cancer is natural to a body that has gone awry - you can be sure of this. If you have reached the age of 50, don't kid yourself. It is likely there...but cancer in a well functioning body exists without notice.
In an interview with Ty Bollinger, in the documentary series "Quest for the Cures", D. Edward Griffin explains how cancer cells are surrounded by a protein coating which has a negative electrostatic charge.
White blood cells, which are supposed to attack the cancer, have a negative electrostatic charge as well. As we know - like charges repel one another.
If you eat a lot of meat the digestive enzymes are going to work on the MEAT, and there is very little left over to do anything else. If the pancreas is functioning normally, the enzymes will digest your food and digest the negative electrostatic coating that is surrounding the cancer cell. This strips away the negative electro static charge and reveals the positive charge. White blood cells, which remember have the negative charge, can now come in and do their work. The opposite electrostatic charge can now ATTRACT.
How do you increase your pancreatic digestive enzymes and which one in particular do you want to increase... Amygdalin, Also known as B17. If you are eating organic produce - EAT your APPLE SEEDS, which are very high in B17. We are brought up taught to not eat toxic apple seeds because they contain cyanide. Scary, right? Pure cyanide in gaseous form - is toxic. B17 cyanide molecules found in apple and apricot seeds are NOT the same ...but they do kill cancer cells.
You may have read reports on how this is not true... to which I recommend you find the writings of Ralph Moss, a researcher at Sloan Kettering when laetrile was being researched at the institute. The Japanese doctor researching laetrile, and finding tumor reduction in mice, was the victim of having his control groups purposely mixed at the famous cancer research center...for the purpose of discrediting his findings.
If you read my posts do you see a pattern? Cancer treatments are big money makers. Natural cures are not.
To your health,
Rita S.

Importance of Detox for Cancer Treatment - Coffee Enemas!
Often times cancer patients begin alternative treatment - approaching their cancer from the perspective of using nutrition and supplements to kill cancer cells. They begin to feel worse and assume the natural treatment is not working. In an interview with Ty Bollinger, in the documentary series "Quest for the Cures", Dr. Nicholas Garcias, explained how dead cancer cells are extremely toxic to the body. He discussed the importance of excreting the dead cancer cells and how it plays a critical role in the process of a patient becoming cancer free. Garcias clinic specializes in advanced pancreatic cancer treatments.
Garcias explains...dozens of studies from 1920s and forward, in CONVENTIONAL medicine journals, talk about the importance of detoxification and remarkable results of coffee enemas. As technology advanced, and fancy equipment purchased by clinics and hospitals, inexpensive tried and true protocols, such as coffee enemas, went by the wayside. (Remember, there is little money to be had from something like using coffee and distilled/RO water.)
Successful Treatments with Coffee Enemas appear in:
-New England Journal of Medicine 1932
-Harvard Medical School 1932 - treated bi-polar illness with coffee enemas and colonics
- Study from Uruguay, patients from septic shock reversed with coffee enemas (1941-1942)
There are many studies that support the benefits of detoxifications. Of the many books in my library, and protocols described - whether it is the Gerson therapy, or other well known treatments - coffee enemas are listed as a necessary step in many treatment programs.
You may find a local practitioner that offers coffee enemas, or colonics, as a service. If you are unsure how to go about, I encourage you to enlist the help of a trained professional.
To your health,

Quest for the Cures - Breast Cancer Diagnostics
If you haven't heard there is a series of 11 documentaries currently being shown for free - Quest for the Cures. You can still sign up to view all eleven - which are being re-aired tomorrow, Oct. 25th.
The documentaries include a number of oncologists who are "coming out of the closet". Their conscience can no longer handle the guilt of remaining silent about what they know is causing cancer - whether it is the diagnostic tools or the actual treatments. Episode 7, as an example, a doctor talks about mammograms and how it is a terrible test and causes breast cancer.
Thermography is a great diagnostic tool and THE best way to screen. No breast smashing, no cancer causing radiation, and it will indicate areas of concern 10 years before a mammogram. Cancer cells appear long before a lump will form - which takes about 8 years before a mammogram or ultrasound will detect it. By then you are talking about 1 billion cells and it is shedding cancer cells through the body. It is NOT early detetction, but a propagated lie. Not the screening - but the fact hat mammography is not truly EARLY detection. Get your THERMOGRAM!! It is the only TRUE early detection.
If you have a lump, an Ultrasound - or test of anatomy - is the way to go. Sensitivity of an ultrasound is 80% and up - which
You may ask, "if thermography is better, why are mammograms pushed so much?" Keep in mind the mammogram machines are already in place and they need to be paid for. If you get enough mammograms increases a woman's risk of cancer by 2%. So if you keep getting the mammograms you WILL eventually find cancer.
Today's medicine is being described as FEAR MEDICINE. We, as a population, are scared into doing what ever we are told....because we trust medicine and we fear cancer.
Tamoxifin is another drug a doctor that doctor says, assures repeat business for oncologists. There are a number of natural estrogen blockers
Lastly, as people are focused on donating in October - as it wraps up please reconsider any donations you feel you want to give Komen foundation or American Cancer Society. Know where the money goes...if you think it is cancer research - think again. A former head of the FDA said you will never see clinical trials or studies on natural cures or supplements for cancer.
I realize this post may seem a bit random. I was typing the notes from the interviews with these doctors as they spoke. I do hope you will visit the link and subscribe to learn more about cancer truths.
To your health!
Rita

Celeriac Root Soup in Minutes
Blended up a soup fast and easy yesterday - literally minutes (thanks in part to a loan of a Vitamix from a friend), as we focus on raw food eating for its healing properties. This recipe is "elimination diet" friendly - no dairy, soy, gluten, etc.
1 Celeriac root - trimmed off outside "rind" and cut into chunks
3 organic carrots
3-5 garlic cloves (5 produces some heat)
1/2 onion - cut into chunks
1" piece of organic ginger root
1 cup raw cashews (soak for 2 hours prior)
1 tsp. turmeric
2 pinches Celtic Sea Salt
1 carton organic vegetable broth
Depending on blender size...this may need to be done in several batches.
Place 2 cups liquid in blender first, root vegetables, blend until fairly smooth. Add remaining ingredients and puree until creamy texture. May be eaten cold - drizzle with EVOO. Or simmer on low heat (lower heat maintains integrity of healthful enzymes) and enjoy.
There are MANY healthful benefits to the ingredients in this soup - anti tumor, anti biotic, anti bacterial, anti oxidant rich.
To your health,
Rita

Countdown to Juice Time!
Thomas Hudson MD describes whole food supplements as such: "There are basically two types of nutritional supplements. One type is based on the whole food; the other type is fragmented. Whole food based supplements usually consist of fruits and vegetables which have been dehydrated to a powder form. They aren’t the whole food, of course, but they’re a pretty reasonable facsimile. The magic of the whole food, which lies in the synergy of all its parts, is largely preserved. Technically speaking, they aren’t even supplements. They are whole food concentrates."I admit - juicing seems a lot of work. Perhaps it is the type of juicer one has - although we are using a high end Green Star Elite on loan from a friend. It is powerful, and preserves enzymes vs. heating and depleting.

By the time I gather from the garden or pluck vegetables from the frig, rinse off and chop as needed to fit into the rather small chute...juicing is not a fast and easy part of convenient living. No one can deny it makes a mess, and clean up can be a chore. Then there is waste...lots of organic vegetable pulp making its way to compost. I tried making soup, but realized that vegetables from which water has been extricated, does not cream well, and the texture is not the same.
When I juice I try to make more than one glass - one for my husband, one for myself, and if I can freeze even half a jelly jar for another time... When I made juice the other day it was comprised of 2 carrots, 1 large beet - root and top greens, 1 pear, carrot greens, purple cabbage leaf, fresh dandelion greens, basil leaves. Plenty of great nutrients from multiple color spectrum of foods...in about an hour, although it seemed more.

As a comparison, I used the whole food concentrate - Greens Balance from Arbonne - to create a beverage that I would venture provides a greater supply of nutrients due to its full spectrum, synergestic blend. In 30 seconds, shaken in a canning jar with a screw top lid - I had at my disposal...wheat and barley grass, chlorophyll, spirulina, cabbage, tomatoes, blueberries, acai, carrots, Omega 3 from flax, quinoa and other seeds, and so much more. I can email you a PDF of the complete ingredient list if you would like to see it.
Greens Balance tastes much better than other green super food powders I have tried, and if you are new to consuming super green anti oxidant foods - you may wish to add a bit of raw honey. I feel, from all I have read, that adding a little honey will help this powerhouse of oxygen, get into cells quicker for faster turnaround when one is ailing.
As winter approaches and organic produce will experience a price increase, I am grateful for Greens Balance. When my garden is finally put to bed for the winter...I will turn to this as a super blend of whole food goodness at a reasonable price, not to mention a huge time saver.
To your health,
Rita S.
